Weekending in the Berkshires

This weekend I headed out to the Kemble Inn in the Berkshires. The Inn feels luxurious without feeling stuffy. Several of the rooms are filled to the brim with natural light. Other rooms have a darker but sexy feel. The décor juxtaposes timeless elegance with a modern quirk that comes across as both charming and welcoming. The grounds feature breathtaking views perfect for watching the sunset or enjoying the foliage in the fall. The gilded age mansion is a short distance from Boston and New York City as well as the great culture the Berkshires have to offer.

At Table Six, the Inn's restaurant, you get to enjoy sweeping views of the Berkshires and the ambiance that a large wood burning fireplace offers. The chef has an accomplished resumé that includes years of cooking at the White House for Bill Clinton and the first family in addition to two hundred senior staff members. I ordered the signature crab cake and a small portion of the seasonal risotto. The food was fresh and bursting with flavor and the service was exemplary. I'm often in the Berkshires so I know it is a place I will be visiting again.
